World of Warcraft – Item Upgrading The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln. Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade, and aren't worth it. Weapons Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also have a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. A lot of weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a single unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do. The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one. The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. While this is usually an excellent thing however, it could have negative consequences as well. For items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them useless unless you have an extremely fortunate roll. Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their stats. In the case of a helm or chest, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it can sometimes reduce its value. The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number. Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status. Armor Adding a few upgrades to your armor could make a a huge difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses fire, magic, and other. This makes it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the more health you'll gain from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor. You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the fountain in question, you can then speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor. The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a large group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a handful of friends. Be aware that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask. You can also unlock some benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be beneficial to have a few upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past certain monsters. Potions Potions are liquid substances that, if consumed, give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust. Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. These can be earned by making them on a table or in an Alchemist's chest. However, the cost of upgrading is dependent on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity. To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Select “Upgrade” from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have. Once a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade unless you take it out again or break the bottle in which it is stored. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory. Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions, for instance, now have a duration zero, not the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It is now able to be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be mixed in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the contents and replenishes the bottle. Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made with splash and dragon breath potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, such as the potion of leaping and decomposition. Trinkets A trinket is a tiny and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an ornament or object that serves a function but isn't important as a thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members. In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be exchanged at will without losing their stats. The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets. Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a new trinket. You can upgrade their trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl of the previous one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1. Once the old Trinkets have become no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold. Players should upgrade their most essential items first. item upgrader means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that will not replace in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). When choosing which items to upgrade players must also take into account their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players and they want to upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders. Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl once they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it is saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying new ones.
